Cardi B, the Grammy Award-winning rapper, has been awarded $1.2 million in a lawsuit filed against blogger and YouTuber Latasha Kebe, also known as Tasha K.

The rapper was awarded $1.25 million in damages. Cardi B sued the blogger back in 2019 for defamation, in which she testified during trial that she experienced extreme anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation due to Tasha K's claims. Tasha claimed that Cardi used beer bottles to please herself on stage while she was a stripper, prostituted, unfaithful to her husband, contracted herpes, and was addicted to hard drugs.
Cardi, in court, said those claims made her defeated, depressed, fatigued, and made her lose weight. She also added that the herpes claim left a scar on her online because when she posted a photo of her kissing her daughter Kulture, Tasha's fans harrassed her, saying she shouldn't be kissing her daughter while she is infected with herpes.
Tasha K, in court, admitted in court to knowingly publishing false claims about the rapper, but she went back on her claims after being examined by her lawyers, but it was already too late for her as the jurors sided with Cardi B on all claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The $1 million is for general damage, and the $250,000 is for medical expenses.

In reaction to the win, Cardi tweeted that she was both happy and sad at the same time.
