The National Coordinator of the Presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19 Aliyu Sani appeared on Channel TV's Sunday politics, 17th May, and disclosed that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will address citizens come Monday, May 18th.
As the this phase of the easing of lockdown has come to an end, Nigerians will know if the ease of the lockdown continues to the second phase he said some recommendations has been made by them to the presidency, however, citizens will have to wait for the decision of the President.
He said "We have given our recommendations to the president and we will wait for his decision on the next phase of ease of lockdown tomorrow.
"We have been monitoring quite closely the obedience to the ease of lockdown guidelines. We don't know how long this pandemic will last. We are trying to dave lives and at the same time, balance it up with the economy. No country on earth can afford a lockdown for a prolonged period of time. It will be dangerous to the economy."
The National Coordinator PTF on COVID-19 charged citizens to obey directives to help curb the spread of the Virus.
