Nigerian Muslims who were supposed to end fasting yesterday the 22nd of May are asked to continue fasting today, 23rd May as the new moon was not sighted.

Saturday, 23rd May was supposed to be the Eid Fitri Celebration to identify the end of the fasting, but will not hold due to the new moon not  being sighted.

This was made known  by the 'National Moonsighting Committee Nigeria' via their twitter handle.

It read "There was no positive sighting report of the shawl crescent in Nigeria, tomorrow is 30th Ramadan. An official statement from the Sultanate will be released shortly."
