Mustard, a successful music producer, has filed for divorce from his wife Chanel Thierry, only a year and a half after saying "I Do."
On Monday, May 2, the successful producer filed divorce papers in Los Angeles.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, DJ Mustard, whose real name is Dijon Isaiah McFarlane, filed for divorce on Monday after being married to the model for a year and a half. The news was initially reported by TMZ.
Mustard also demands shared legal and physical custody of their three children, Kiylan, 10, Kauner, 7, and Kody, 2, describing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their breakup.
Mustard noted in the letter that the couple had signed a prenuptial agreement before marrying in October 2020. According to sources, the former couple had been dating since they were 19 years old until becoming engaged in 2018.
Chanel confirmed the news on Instagram, saying that it tears her heart to see things come to an end. She wrote, "Thank you for the kind words, thoughts and prayers," she wrote. "Anyone that followed me or knows me personally knows my family means the world to me."
"I've dedicate[d] 12 loyal years and it is more then [sic] heartbreaking to see things end," she concluded.
