On Saturday night, Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Daniel Etim Effiong unveiled the candidates for the 8th Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) through a live webcast.

The actors listed the on-screen performances, directorial decisions, set design choices, music selections, and style executions that drew the attention and appreciation of the filmmaking community. The nominees for this year's awards were spread across 33 categories, including the newly added Best Online Social Content Creator.

The audience chose 12 categories, while the awards committee, led by renowned filmmaker Victor Okhai, chose 21. The winner of the Best Soundtrack award this year will receive N1 million.

MultiChoice, the award organizers, have organized an eight-day calendar of festivities leading up to the anticipated awards night on May 14.
