Ye, the musician formerly known as Kid Cudi, has announced that his contributions to Donda 2 would be removed due to his association with "You Know Who."

Kanye West and Kid Cudi have publicly feuded, sparked by a remark on Ye's Instagram. Ye appeared irritated by Kid Cudi's friendship with actor and comedian Pete Davidson, who is dating Ye's ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Ye wrote on Instagram in a since-deleted note that Cudi "will not be on Donda because he's friends with you know who," adding, "we all speak in Billie language now." "Too bad I don't want to be on ur album, you fuckin dinosaur hahaha," Cudi commented in the comments. He also responded separately on Twitter, writing: "We talked weeks ago about this. You’re whack for flipping the script and posting this lie just for a look on the internet. You ain’t no friend. BYE."

Ye has already addressed his emotions of betrayal, posting on an Instagram image with Davidson's face X'd out, "I JUST WANT MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK, THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEPER."

He then posted another Marvel-themed meme, this one pitting him, Drake, his current girlfriend Julia Fox, Travis Scott, and Future against Kim Kardashian, her boyfriend Pete Davidson, Billie Eillish, Taylor Swift, and Kid Cudi, in which he called Pete Davidson "Skete."

This isn't the first time the collaborators and friends have clashed. Cudi attacked both Ye (then West) and Drake on Twitter in 2016, questioning their utilization of several composers to create their music. Ye, on tour in support of his The Life of Pablo LP, responded from the stage in Tampa: "Don’t never mention Ye name. I birthed you," he added, "I’m so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we’re two black men in a racist world. I wore skinny jeans first. " Ye reversed course a week later in Houston, declaring, "Kid Cudi is my brother" and labeling him "the most influential artist of the last ten years." When Drake released "Two Birds, One Stone," a song aimed at Pusha T and Kid Cudi, Ye was named as a writer, songwriter, and producer in the credits.

A year later, in November 2017, Cudi invited Ye to play "Father Stretch My Hands, Pt 1" from The Life of Pablo at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. It was his first live performance since the closing night of his Saint Pablo Tour on November 20, 2016. The following year, the two teamed up again.
