My lawyers are currently reviewing it in preparation for our next course of action.- Blessing Okagbare responds to her ten-year suspension for drug offences.

Blessing Okagbare, Nigeria's 2008 long jump silver medalist, has reacted to the Athletics Integrity Unit's (AIU) decision to impose a 10-year doping suspension on her.

The 33-year-old, who is also a sprinter, was kicked out of last year's Tokyo Olympics before the women's 100m semi-finals after testing positive for human growth hormone during an out-of-competition test in Slovakia on July 19.

After she was found guilty on Friday, February 18, the AIU announced its decision to place her on a 10-year suspension.

Blessing responded to the ruling on her Instagram page, saying that her lawyers are looking into it.

"My attention has been drawn to the statement issued by the AIU regarding its disciplinary panel decision. My lawyers are currently studying it for our next line of action, which we will inform you of soon, "she wrote.
