Legendary Nigerian Musician Majek Fashek 57, has died. The news was disclosed by his manage Omenka Uzoma who in a shared Video confirmed that the Singer is dead. 

He said he has been getting pressured with a lot of call regarding the matter and is confirming that yes Majek Fashek is dead and has gone to rest with the lord. He asked fans to celebrate his achievements as he had done a lot and will communicate fans further on new developments. 

Majek Fashek whose full name is Majekodunmi Fasheke, his name meant "power of miracle, the high priest does not live" is known for his powerful tune "send down the rain" which garnered him attention and fame, due to the fact that upon release of the song, there was a heavy down pour in Nigeria that was one of the worst draughts in Nigeria's history.

Back in September 2019, the Musician was rumoured dead as he took very I'll but his manager debunked the claims saying, 

"9:30 PM from London in Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Today is Sunday, this is to inform all the well-wishers, fans and lovers of Majek Fashek back in Nigeria that Majek is not dead, he is very fine. I just stepped out now because of this ongoing music that people are saying that he is dead. Let's not wish him dead, let's join hands and pray for him.

"For those of you that are praying, prayers are working, every day there is a gradual improvement. We need funds, we need money for maintenance. The notable Nigerians that deposited for his medication...but we still need money for other things. We also heard that people are raising money which is without our consent..."

LindaIkeji, on June 2 confirmed that the singer died in a hospital in New York on june 1.
