Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state tests positive for coronavirus, he revealed in a press conference in Akure, the states capital, June 30.

The Governor 63, revealed that he is asymptomatic and that after suffering malaria, decided to get tested for coronavirus and tested positive. 

''I had malaria a few days ago and was treated. I did get over it and as at the time we had our party NEC and my colleagues called on me, I spoke with one of them who felt that malaria shouldn't be treated lightly but that I should go ahead and have a test for COVID19.

The result come out today June 30 and I tested positive. 

I am asymptommatic. I am not feeling sick nor feeling hot in anyway but my doctors have decided I should take the normal treatment and self isolate. I beleieve that supervised home management will be ideal for me for now and so from now I will be isolated and go on with the supervised home management'' he said
