The president of the Nigerian Veterinary Association, Professor Bello Agaie has died as a result of complications from coronavirus.  

Professor Bello was the former Dean of student affairs at the Usman Dan Fodio University. 

He was confirmed dead on Thursday night by Niger state government. The Chief press secretary to the Governor Mary Noel-Berje released the news of the demise on her twitter page. She tweeted "Governor Abubakar Sani of Niger State has revealed that so far ten(10) persons have been confirmed positive for coronavirus out of 202 samples collected and tested.

"Meanwhile Niger state has lost a Professor of veterinary Medicine, Professor Bello Agaie of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University to COVID-19. 

"We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatu Firdausi."
