A Pakistan plane with 107 passengers on board crashes near Karachi Airport. 

A plane carrying more than 100 passengers crashed into a residential area near the Southern Pakistan city of Karachi, the Country's civil aviation agency on Friday. 

The spokesman for the aviation authority Abdul Sattar Khokhar said "The plane crashed in Karachi. We are trying to confirm the number of passengers but initially it is 99".

The PK 203 from Lahore to Karachi has crashed just before landing the officials confirmed. The Airbus A320 went down into the residential quarters and houses were damaged.


A spokesman for the statesman Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Abdul Sattar told the newspaper Pawn that the flight was carrying 90 passengers and 8 crew members and had been due to land in Karachi 14:45 Local time (09:45 GMT).
