Khelani in an interview with members of the breakfast Club discussed the situation surrounding her breakup with Yg. She spoke about how she felt they had broken up a lot of times and felt it was too much hence deciding to keep the relationship private but that didn't work out as the couples finally called it quits on the Grammys night, she explained that although everyone was in good spirits, it went bad that day.

Angela yee asked saying "you said you seen everything you didn't wanna see, what's that? Kehlani replied saying to go listen to her song where she said everything about it, Charlamagne then interrupted saying he hasn't listened to the song, asking what she said on the song. She replied explaining that she saw things she didn't want to see on his phone, in her exact words those things were "deep and intricate" and then decided to take a step back seeing that they were no on the same page, she also confirmed when Charlamagne asked that Rapper Yg cheated on her.
In the interview, she confirmed that he apologised and he has a big heart, but she believes in setting boundaries for her relationship and they spoke about being cool with each other since they were in the same industry and revealed that they weren't on bad terms.
