Janet Jackson is set to receive the Icon Award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
The living legend will be performing during the live broadcast of the BBMAs in Las Vegas on May 20. It is said to be her first televised performance in nine years, as noted by the Associated Press.
This is will no be her first billboard awards, of course, as the living legend has about 10 billboard awards to her name.
After the honor, she will continue with her State of the World Tour after adding 11 new dates to her North American leg last month. The tour will kick off with her 2018 ESSENCE festival performance on Sunday, July 8, in New Orleans .
The 2018 Billboard Awards will air live on May 20 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT on NBC.
